NEW PRODUCTS - Crankshaft Drive, Water Injection and A/C Option The Supercharger Store's Race Only Crankshaft Drive for ProCharger Superchargers The Supercharger Store is announcing the limited availability of a crankshaft drive for ProCharger Superchargers used in drag racing. Each application is custom engineered to the specific engine, chassis and ProCharger supercharger being used. It is engineered to fit Chrysler big block engines, (B, RB and Hemi) and to be compatible with any harmonic balancer, crank trigger ignition and motor plate and stock type water pump housing with electric motor and a v-belt driven alternator. Advantages of the crankshaft drive are: 1. Extremely reliable. Easier on the supercharger than a belt or chain. 2. Very little or no maintenance required. 3. No belt or chain to wear out. 4. Supercharger air intake faces forward. 5. Minimal piping, excellent engine serviceability. 6. Extremely fine tuning possible with 67 gear ratios available. Incremental speed changes of less than 3%. Many aircraft from WWII fighters to transport category aircraft with reciprocating engines have used water injection to suppress detonation at max. (take off) power. These were of course supercharged engines. A byproduct of compressing air is heat. This increase in temperature causes higher combustion chamber temperatures which can cause pre-ignition/detonation (ping). Water injection reduces the temperature in the intake and combustion chamber and water slows flame front propagation which allows more timing advance. Water will remove 4 times as much heat as gasoline when it vaporizes, thus the engine can be tuned slightly leaner. The bottom line is more power. The Supercharger Store water injection kit is fully adjustable and fully automatic. It includes a 5 gallon reservoir, industrial grade pump, pressure senstive switch (adjustable from 0 to 30 PSI), necessary plumbling and nozzle.
